Advice built on clarity, measured by execution.

Optimus is an advisory firm for organisations facing decisions that matter. We bring structure to complex questions and discipline to the work that follows.

Our position

We help leadership teams see clearly, decide with confidence and deliver what they decide.

Optimus brings together four disciplines that are often handled separately: management consultancy, project management, human resources consultancy and investment consultancy. Strategy depends on the people who carry it. Projects depend on clear priorities. Investment decisions depend on both. Working across these areas lets us see how one decision affects the next.

We are deliberately practical. Our role is to help clients understand their situation, weigh their options honestly and move forward with a plan that fits the organisation they actually have.

Our advisory approach

Strategic clarity and practical execution.

Our approach rests on two commitments. First, we make sure the problem is properly understood before we recommend anything. Second, we shape every recommendation around what your organisation can realistically deliver, and we stay involved as plans move into action where you want us to.

Clarity comes first

Most difficult decisions become easier once the problem is properly defined. We invest early effort in understanding objectives, constraints and the real question to be answered, so that everything that follows rests on solid ground.

Advice must be usable

A recommendation only has value if it can be implemented. We shape our advice around your people, processes and resources, and we are candid about trade-offs, risks and what each option would demand of the organisation.

Execution is the measure

We judge our work by what changes as a result of it. Where clients want continued support, we stay close to delivery, track progress against agreed measures and help resolve the issues that arise.

How we work with clients.

Every engagement follows four stages. The depth of each stage is agreed with you at the outset and scaled to the scope of the work.

  1. Understand

We listen, review the information available and agree the objectives, boundaries and success measures for the engagement.

  2. Define

We develop and test options, set out the evidence and trade-offs, and agree a clear direction with the people who will own it.

  3. Deliver

We turn the direction into a plan with owners and milestones, then support implementation through governance and regular review.

  4. Sustain

We help embed new structures, processes and capabilities, and plan a handover so the organisation can carry the work forward.

Agreed scope

Objectives, deliverables and responsibilities are set out in writing before work begins.

A clear point of contact

You know who is responsible for the engagement and how to reach them.

Plain reporting

Progress, risks and decisions needed are reported regularly and without jargon.

Planned handover

Knowledge, documents and ownership are transferred deliberately at the close.

The standards we hold ourselves to.

These values describe how we expect to behave in every engagement, whatever its size.

Integrity

We give our honest view, including when it is not the answer a client hoped to hear, and we are open about the limits of our role.

Rigour

We test assumptions, ask for evidence and show our reasoning, so that recommendations can be examined and trusted.

Discretion

We treat client information with care and share it only as the engagement requires and the client agrees.

Objectivity

We weigh options on their merits and declare any interest that could affect, or appear to affect, our advice.

Partnership

We work alongside client teams rather than around them, building understanding and capability as we go.

Accountability

We do what we say we will do, and when circumstances change we say so early and agree what happens next.
